专利摘要:
An electrohydraulic device comprises an electric machine (101), a hydraulic device (105), and a gear (102) that has a first shaft (103) attached to a rotor (104) of the electric machine, a second shaft (106) configured to drive the hydraulic device, and gear wheels configured to transfer torque between the first shaft and the second shaft. The second shaft of the gear is configured to constitute a rotating part (108) of the hydraulic device. As the gear and the hydraulic device are integrated so that the rotating part of the hydraulic device is a part of the second shaft of the gear, the electrohydraulic device can be mechanically compact. This makes it easier for example to encapsulate the electrohydraulic device with a hermetic casing.

An electrohydraulic device Field of the disclosure The disclosure relates to an electrohydraulic device that is a combination of a hydraulic device, a gear, and an electric machine.
The hydraulic device can act as a hydraulic pump and/or as a hydraulic motor.
Background In many hydraulic systems, an electrohydraulic device which comprises a hydraulic pump that is driven with an electric machine can be more advantageous than a hydraulic pump that is driven with e.g. a combustion engine because an electrohydraulic device of the kind mentioned above can be easier and faster to control.
Furthermore, the electrohydraulic device can be positioned more freely than a hydraulic pump driven by a combustion engine.
In some hydraulic systems there can be a need for an electrohydraulic device which is compact in size but where a hydraulic pump can nevertheless be driven with high torque.
Maximum torque that can be produced by an electric machine is limited by physical dimensions of the rotor of the electric machine because magnetic flux density acting on an airgap of the electric machine is limited as well as electric current carried by windings of the electric machine is limited.
The magnetic flux o 20 density cannot be practically increased any more when a saturation point of iron has O been exceeded.
Increasing the electric current increases resistive losses in the se windings.
The resistive losses are increased proportionally to the sguare of the o electric current whereas the torgue is increased proportionally to the electric current z when the magnetic flux density does not change.
Thus, increasing the electric so 25 current over a reasonable point impairs the efficiency.
Furthermore, increasing the N electric current makes it more and more challenging to remove heat caused by the N resistive losses.
Therefore, in many electrohydraulic devices, a physical size of an N electric machine needs to be significantly greater than the physical size of a hydraulic pump and therefore it can be challenging to construct an electrohydraulic device that is compact in size but where a hydraulic pump can nevertheless be driven with high torque.
Publication US4850812 describes an integrated motor-pump unit for use as a hydraulic fluid pressure source.
The integrated motor-pump unit comprises a pump rotor affixed in the center of a motor rotor.
The motor-pump rotor assembly spins on a stationary shaft and is supported by radial and axial bearings.
The stationary shaft comprises a piston drive mechanism which is angled, relative to the geometric axis of rotation of the motor-pump rotor assembly, so that reciprocal movement of the pistons is developed as they rotate about the geometric axis of rotation.
In the integrated motor pump unit described in US4850812, the physical size of the electric machine is significantly greater than the physical size of a hydraulic pump that is inside the electric machine.
Summary The following presents a simplified summary in order to provide a basic understanding of some aspects of various invention embodiments.
The summary is not an extensive overview of the invention.
It is neither intended to identify key or critical elements of the invention nor to delineate the scope of the invention.
The following summary merely presents some concepts of the invention in a simplified form as a prelude to a more detailed description of exemplifying embodiments of the invention.
S In this document, the word “geometric” when used as a prefix means a geometric O concept that is not necessarily a part of any physical object.
The geometric concept se can be for example a geometric point, a straight or curved geometric line, a co geometric plane, a non-planar geometric surface, a geometric space, or any other I 25 geometric entity that is zero, one, two, or three dimensional. a N In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a new electrohydraulic S device that can be used as a hydraulic fluid pressure source, or as a hydraulically driven electric generator.
An electrohydraulic device according to the invention comprises: - an electric machine,
- a hydraulic device that can act as a hydraulic pump and/or as a hydraulic motor, and - a gear having a first shaft attached to a rotor of the electric machine, a second shaft configured to drive the hydraulic device, and gear wheels configured to transfer torque between the first shaft and the second shaft.
The second shaft of the gear is configured to constitute a rotating part of the hydraulic device.
The second shaft that comprises the rotating part of the hydraulic device can be for example a single piece of material, or the second shaft can be manufactured as separate pieces which are attached to each other with a shrink fit, a welded joint, a brazed joint, a bolted joint, or some other suitable attachment technique.
Thus, in electrohydraulic devices according to some exemplifying embodiments, the rotating part of the hydraulic device is non-separable from the other part of the second shaft without material deformations whereas, in electrohydraulic devices according to other exemplifying embodiments, the drive flange is separable from the other part of the second shaft without material deformations.
In this document, the term “hydraulic device” means a device that can act as a hydraulic pump and/or as a hydraulic motor.
As the gear and the hydraulic device are integrated so that the rotating part of the hydraulic device is also a part of the second shaft of the gear, the electrohydraulic S device can be compact even if it comprises the gear between the electric machine O and the hydraulic device.
The compactness of the electrohydraulic device makes it se easier for example to encapsulate the electrohydraulic device with a hermetic 00 casing.
E 25 The hydraulic device can be for example bent axis hydraulic pump, and the second N shaft of the gear can be configured to constitute a drive flange configured to drive S pistons of the bent axis hydraulic pump.
For another example, the hydraulic device can be a swash plate axial piston pump, and the second shaft of the gear can be configured to constitute a shaft of a rotating cylinder barrel of the swash plate axial piston pump. It is also possible that the hydraulic device is some other type of hydraulic pump and/or motor. The gear can be e.g. a speed reduction gear so that rotational speed of the electric machine is greater than rotational speed of the hydraulic device. In this exemplifying case, torque directed to the hydraulic device is greater than torque produced by the electric machine and thus the physical size of the electric machine can be smaller. Various exemplifying and non-limiting embodiments are described in accompanied dependent claims. Various exemplifying and non-limiting embodiments both as to constructions and to — methods of operation, together with additional objects and advantages thereof, will be best understood from the following description of specific exemplifying embodiments when read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. The verbs “to comprise” and “to include” are used in this document as open limitations that neither exclude nor reguire the existence of also un-recited features. The features recited in the accompanied dependent claims are mutually freely combinable unless otherwise explicitly stated. Furthermore, it is to be understood that the use of "a” or “an”, i.e. a singular form, throughout this document does not exclude a plurality. Brief description of the figures o 20 Exemplifying and non-limiting embodiments and their advantages are explained in S greater detail below in the sense of examples and with reference to the g accompanying drawings, in which: 0 - figure 1 illustrates an electrohydraulic device according to an exemplifying and non- E limiting embodiment,LO
N 10 25 figure 2 illustrates an electrohydraulic device according to another exemplifying and O non-limiting embodiment, and figure 3 illustrates an electrohydraulic device according to another exemplifying and non-limiting embodiment.
